As a personal injury and wrongful death law firm, Longo Biggs Injury Law, works with families and their loved ones during difficult circumstances. After seeing so many uplifting instances of our clients’ resilience following a tough life moment, we were inspired to create the In Memoriam Scholarship.
After reviewing the applications, we were astounded by how many applicants were inspired by loved ones to pursue incredible goals.
With that being said, we’re happy to introduce our In Memoriam Scholarship winner, Devin!
2022 Winner – Devin L.
Biography: I am a recent graduate from the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia. In May, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion with a minor in Global Health. I will return to UGA in August to achieve my graduate degree to obtain my Master of Public Health and Master of Social Work. I hail from middle Georgia and have always aspired to work with people to promote health education and encourage individuals to take their health into their own hands. I advocate for mental health and believe all people deserve access to the resources to live both a physically and mentally healthy life. After the unexpected death of my mother, I knew I had found my calling and have been working to achieve my goal ever since.
Reaction statement: I am truly honored to receive this scholarship. My family has always been my biggest motivation, and my mother is the reason I decided to pursue my degree. After her accident, I knew I had to persevere despite the hardship and difficulty that I knew I would face after such a traumatic life event. It is because of her that I can push on and achieve a graduate degree in order to help others push on after they experience a loss like mine.
